The Hidden Meadow Inn is located about 15 minutes from Massena or Potsdam, about 20 minutes to Canton, about 30 minutes from Ogdensburg or Canada and 1 mile to canoe carry on the Raquette River.

If you want to try out the river, bring your canoe or kayak and life jackets and we'll point you in the right direction!

From Potsdam... go north on Rt. 56 to Norfolk. Turn left at the Main Street Bridge (CR 38). Go one mile (just before Sabad's Restaurant) and turn left on to Sober Street. Go one mile. On the right at our driveway you will see our white mailbox with red cardinals marked 1950 and a small yellow sign with the name Hidden Meadow Inn..

Alternate directions from Potsdam ... Take Rt 56 through the villiage of Norwood. Right after the speed limit changes from 30 to 45 (you'll see 2 signs for 45 MPH), turn left on CR 48A (Yaleville Road/River Road Ext). You will have an S-curve right before a 1-lane bridge with a clearance of just 7 feet, so this route will not work if you are driving a big rig. At the T, turn Right onto Sober Street and go 1.9 miles according to your odometer. On the right at our driveway you will see our white mailbox with red cardinals and marked 1950, and a small yellow sign with the name Hidden Meadow Inn.

Directions from Clarkson University to the Hidden Meadow Inn... From Clarkson go North on Pine Street past Agway on th left and the arena on the right. At the Y take River Road which bears to the right. Go through the stop light at CR 35 (Ridge Road). River Road turns into Sober Street between River Road Ext (Yaleville Road/CR 48A) and Rt 38 or Main Street (Norfolk). From River Road Ext go 1.9 miles according to your odometer. On the right at our driveway you will see our white mailbox with red cardinals and marked 1950, and a small yellow sign with the name Hidden Meadow Inn.

From Watertown, take Rt. 11 north to Canton. At the light at the T where Rt. 11 joins with Rt. 68, you will see Cascade Inn right in front of you. Turn right on to Main Street (you will still be on Rt. 11 North).

From here there are two options.

1. You can drive through Canton, NY. As you do drive through town until you see the Best Western on the right and the P & C on the left. Turn left at that light on to Rt. 310 North. Go about 15 miles. You will be on a good country road with only one stoplight at the village of Madrid. Keep going straight. After the Madrid stoplight you have another 6 miles before you turn right on to Rt 38. Go 2 miles. When the speed limit changes to 35, you will see Visitation Cemetery on the right just before a small dip in the road. You will see the Welcome to Norfolk sign there, just before you see Sabad's Restaurant on the right. Right after that is Sober Street. Turn right and go one mile. On the left at our driveway you will see our white mailbox with red cardinals and marked 1950, and a small yellow sign with the name Hidden Meadow Inn.

2. If you don't want to go through Canton, you can take a shortcut by following these directions. From Watertown, take Rt. 11 north to Canton. At the light at the T where Rt. 11 joins with Rt. 68, you will see Cascade Inn right in front of you. Turn right on to Main Street (you will still be on Rt. 11 North). Turn left at the very next light on to Rt. 27 (Riverside Drive). Turn Right on to State Street (be sure not to take a hard right as that will put you on Chapel Street). State Street angles over to Rt. 310 North. Turn left at the stop sign on to Rt. 310 North. Go about 15 miles. You will be on a good country road with only one stoplight at the intersection of Rt. 345 at Madrid. Keep going straight until you see the green Norfolk sign. Turn right on to Rt 38. Go 2 miles. When the speed limit changes to 35, you will see Visitation Cemetery on the right just before a small dip in the road. You will see the Welcome to Norfolk sign there, just before you see Sabad's Restaurant on the right. Right after that is Sober Street. Turn right and go one mile. On the left at our driveway you will see our white mailbox with red cardinals and marked 1950, and a small yellow sign with the name Hidden Meadow Inn.

From the East ... If you are coming from the east, you can take route 11 just past Stockholm Center and McCarthy Road to the turn-off to Norfolk (Rt. 47). Take that all the way into Norfolk, turning right at the T at 56. Then follow the directions from Potsdam above.

From Ogdensburg... you can either come through Canton (see above) or take Rt. 37 north to Waddington. Just past the turn-off to Madrid (Rt. 345 or LaGrasse Street), you will pass Fenton Street. At the next street (Oak Street/Frankling Road/Rt. 44) where the IGA is, turn right. Go straight until you come to the T at Rt. 38. Turn left. Go 2 miles. When the speed limit changes to 35, you will see Visitation Cemetery on the right just before a small dip in the road. You will see the Welcome to Norfolk sign there, just before you see Sabad's Restaurant on the right. Right after that is Sober Street. Turn right and go one mile. On the left at our driveway you will see our white mailbox with red cardinals and marked 1950, and a small yellow sign with the name Hidden Meadow Inn.
